Camp Shalom

Camp Shalom was founded in 1968 and for fifty years has provided a wonderful summer day camp experience in Central Kentucky for children of all faiths. The camp provides traditional camp experiences while also teaching aspects of the Jewish faith. It has traveled to a variety of locations throughout the area including its original location at Idle Hour Park, to donated farm land, to the Lansdowne Club and Bluegrass Christian Camp. August 3 – 5th we will be celebrating 50 years of Camp Shalom culminating in a champagne brunch at the Living Arts and Science Center. Former campers, directors and their families will get together to toast the last 50 years and look forward to the future of the camp. The event will include delicious food, music, children’s activities, a wonderful silent auction, special presentations and more! On August 4th there will also be special small group gatherings with campers from different eras so they can enjoy reminiscing with those who they went to camp with in a smaller group setting.
