Camp HERO Kentucky offering free rides to Lexington health care workers ahead of winter storm
LEXINGTON, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – As a potential winter storm moves closer to Central Kentucky, Camp HERO Kentucky is stepping up to help local health care workers in Lexington by providing free transportation to and from work.
Organizers say the free rides will be available beginning Saturday afternoon and will continue through Monday.
Capacity is limited, and rides will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Health care workers needing transportation are asked to text the number displayed on the screen with their name, address, place of employment, and the day and time they are scheduled to work.
Organizers note that due to multiple trips and overlapping schedules, some pickup times may occur up to two hours before a worker’s scheduled shift.
Officials urge health care workers using the service to be prepared for significantly earlier pickup times than the start of their shift.
