Cameron Lancaster loaned from Lexington SC to Louisville City
Forward has appeared in four matches this season for the Greens
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Lexington Sporting Club is loaning second-year forward Cameron Lancaster back to his old team, Louisville City for an undisclosed amount of time.
The Englishman played four times for Head Coach Terry Boss’ side with a dull stat sheet of zero goals and assists to his name. He was one of the few holdovers from former manager Darren Powell’s lone season at the helm in the United Soccer League One. Last season, he scored eight goals in 17 matches.
Louisville was home to Lancaster for eight seasons across two stints in which he became the club’s all-time leading scorer with 88 tallies. He also scored the sole goal in Louisville’s first ever USL Championship triumph in 2017.
“I’m delighted to be back,” said the 32-year-old talisman in a club press release. “This is a club and city that has a special place in my heart. I’m just looking forward to getting started and to contribute to what is shaping up to be a successful season.”
He is the league’s active leading goal scorer as well.
