Call for Artists: ‘Unprecedented Journey’
Lexington, Ky. (WTVQ) – Health care professionals are invited to submit artwork as part of a multi-facted exhibition.
CREATE, in partnership with UK Arts in HealthCare and Lexington Art League, encourages health care professionals to submit artwork to “Unprecedented Journey”.
“We are living through an unprecedented time,” said Jason Akhtarekhavari, manager of UK Arts in HealthCare. “It is a time of uncertainty, loss, pain and suffering for so many. And yet, it can also be a time of certitude, healing, recovery and joy.”
Anyone who works in the health care field is invited to submit their creative works, regardless of the type of position they hold, according to UK officials. The call is open to anyone who works in the health care field and is not limited to just UK HealthCare employees.
“Creativity and the arts are a powerful force,” said Akhtarekhavari. “They can help us navigate the challenges of the human experience as an essential component to our health and well-being. Creativity and the arts may also serve as a road map that guides us to a more hopeful future.”
The submission deadline is Feb. 12, 2021.
Accepted works will be on display at Lexington Art League’s historic home and galleries at The Loudon House from March 19, 2021 through April 23, 2021.
