Calipari officially named Razorbacks Men’s Basketball head coach
Terms of Calipari's contract with Arkansas include NCAA Tournament bonuses
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – John Calipari is officially named the new head coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks Men’s Basketball team.
The announcement came this morning (4/10) about 10:00 a.m. EDT.
The contract runs through the end of April, 2029, with a maximum of two automatic rollover years for NCAA Tournament appearances that would extend the contract to 2031, according to a release from UA. The release also says the deal includes a $1 million signing bonus, and features retention bonuses of $500,000 each year of the contract, along with one-time bonuses for making the NCAA Tournament, reaching the second round, Sweet 16, Final Four and winning a national championship.
ABC36 News Now has learned Calipari will be flying from Lexington to Fayetteville, Ark. this afternoon, and will be formally introduced this evening (Wednesday, 4/10) at 7:00 p.m. EDT at Bud Walton Arena.
