Bus Driver did not yield before crash

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — The accident report for the Jessamine County crash on May 11 states the school bus driver was at fault.

Driver Suzanne Buresh of Waynesburg stated that she failed to yield at an intersection, and did not see the car which ultimately collided with the front bumper of the school bus. The incident report shows that the impact of that collision sent the car into a third vehicle, driven by Ahmed Redmond of Lexington.

Four Lincoln students were transported to St. Joseph Jessamine with minor injuries, while the two car drivers were transported to UK Chandler Medical Center for non-serious injuries.

Lincoln County Bus Garage Coordinator Ted DeFossit has said the driver was immediately suspended, pending a formal investigation. Lincoln Superintendent Karen Hatter said a personnel decision regarding Buresh has been made but could not offer any additional information as to what corrective action was taken.
