Burglary suspect held at gunpoint by homeowner

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington police say a homeowner held a burglary suspect at gunpoint until they arrived to make an arrest.

The homeowner called police at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday after he says he heard someone trying to break into his home on Old Georgetown Street.

Police say they arrived at the scene and found the homeowner pointing a gun at the suspect who was on the ground.

The suspect was taken into custody and is facing burglary charges.

Police believe the same suspect broke into a vacant home nearby.
