Burglary suspect accused of stealing from laundry rooms

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say one man cleaned out several laundry rooms at apartment complexes around Lexington.

Court documents say 37-year-old Leif Morgan broke into the laundry facilities and used a drill to break into the coin-operated washers and dryers.

He would then steal the quarters from the machines.

Police say it happened at least nine times since February.

According to documents, Morgan was caught on video during a burglary at a laundry room on Alexandria Drive.

Police say Morgan admitted to the burglaries when shown stills from the video.

Documents say Morgan stole several hundred dollars from the machines.

Morgan is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
