Bullitt Co. mom accused of killing her two children ages 6, 9 appears in court again

BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Bullitt County mom who’s accused of killing her two children appeared in court again Tuesday, where more information about the incident was released.

Richard Beahl, a detective with the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office, testified that on Nov. 8, he received two 911 calls, from the same home — one from a man and one from a woman — about a possible shooting involving two people.

When Beahl arrived at the home in the 200 block of Bentwood Drive in Shepherdsville around 11 a.m. that day, he says he saw Tiffanie Lucas, the mother, lying in the driveway of the home.

Deputies say they entered the home and found the two boys, one age 6 and one age 9, with “obvious” gunshot wounds to their heads.

He added that a neighbor attempted to provide aid to both boys after Lucas told the neighbor her “kids were dying.”

Both boys were taken to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, but sadly died when they arrived.

Beahl testified that they were able to obtain video from a neighbor’s Ring doorbell, where they heard four gunshots ring out around 10:54 a.m.

In an interview with Lucas, Beahl says she indicated the shootings were an accident, that she had left a gun in the bedroom and that no one else had been in the house.

Both boys’ deaths were ruled homicides.

Lucas is charged with two counts of murder.

She pleaded not guilty in court last week.

The 32-year-old is being held on a $2 million bond.
