Bryan Station hires Phil Hawkins as new head football coach

LEXINGTON, KY (WTVQ) – Bryan Station has named their new football coach.

Phil Hawkins will be taking over as the Defenders new head man.

Hawkins spent last season as the head coach of Apollo High School in Owensboro, KY.

The Eagles went 11-13 in his two seasons at Apollo, but last season featured the state’s second-leading rusher in Harold Hogg.

Hogg rushed for 214 yards per game.

Before that, Hawkins coached for four seasons at Doss High School in Louisville.

Hawkins went 23-24 while at Doss.

Hawkins is taking over for Frank Parks Jr. who was fired after the Defenders went 3-8 last season.
