Bryan Station High School dean on leave after gun-pointing allegation
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — A dean at Bryan Station High School is on administrative leave after being accused of pointing a gun at a Lexington man earlier this year.
John “Jay” Bordas faces a wanton endangerment charge in connection with the alleged incident, which occurred in February. According to court documents, Bordas allegedly followed the man to his home and brandished a firearm. He has pleaded not guilty.
Fayette County Public Schools confirmed to ABC 36 News Now that Bordas has been placed on administrative leave. The school board had previously approved him to attend an education conference in Las Vegas this July, but officials say he will not go if he remains on leave at that time.
Bordas is scheduled to return to court on May 22.
