Brodhead Woman Dies In Madison County Wreck

Investigators said it happened just after 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 1016 and Battlefield Memorial Highway North of Berea.

According to investigators, a Dodge Nitro driven by Angela N. Foster, 23, of Brodhead, was traveling north on Highway 1016 and apparently ran a stop sign, and collided head-on with a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Richard D. Wilburn, 36, of Berea.

Investigators said a passenger in Foster’s car, Anna Rodriguez, 55, of Brodhead, died at the scene.  Investigators said Rodriguez was not wearing a seat belt.

The Sheriff’s Office said Foster had a 2-year old girl in the backseat, who was properly restrained in a child safety seat.  Foster and the child were taken to a hospital in Berea.

Investigators said the pickup driver was wearing his seat belt.  He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
