Britney Spears facing court date after suspected DUI arrest in California
(ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Pop star Britney Spears is facing a court date following a suspected DUI arrest, according to a law enforcement source.
Booking records show the California Highway Patrol arrested Spears north of Los Angeles Wednesday night.
Authorities say the singer was later released Thursday morning.
A representative for Spears called the incident “inexcusable” and said the singer hopes to seek help and make changes in her life following the arrest.
Spears is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.
