BREAKING UPDATE: “Barricaded subject” in home in east Hamburg

UPDATE: 10:15 a.m.

Police say they had made contact with a victim inside the home. According to police, the subject left the residence before officers went in. Right now, the person is not in custody.

UPDATE: 9:15 a.m. – The ABC 36 News Now team at the scene says police are beginning to leave the area.

UPDATED STORY:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington police and fire crews remain on the scene of an active barricade situation in the Blackford Oaks subdivision Wednesday morning.

According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 1500 block of Flemishbond Path just after 7 a.m. for a report of a disorder involving a weapon. When officers arrived, they say a male subject inside the home refused to come out.

The Lexington Fire Department confirmed the barricade situation and is assisting at the scene.

ABC 36 News Now crews at the location counted at least a dozen police vehicles and several fire trucks staged along the street as the standoff continues.

So far, there’s no word on what led to the situation or whether anyone else is inside the home.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Lexington Police Department and Lexington Fire Department are on the scene of a barricade situation in the Blackford Oaks subdivision in the eastern part of Hamburg.

It’s happening on Flemishbond Path.
