Two horses hit and killed by car after getting loose from farm
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington Police say two horses were hit by a car and killed on Faulkner Avenue in Lexington around 6:00 a.m.
Police say it was an accident and not intentional.
According to police, the horses got loose from a farm nearby. A third horse also got loose, but wasn’t hit and was returned to the farm.
Some neighbors were heartbroken hearing the news.
“I have grandchildren and they love to see the horses,” says Paula Wells who lives nearby.
They say the driver wasn’t injured and won’t face any charges. Investigators are still trying to determine how the horses got out.
