UPDATE: Private plane crashes in Calumet Farm field, no serious injuries

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say engine failure forced a small private plane to crash in a field at Calumet Farm near Blue Grass Airport in Lexington Saturday afternoon.

Police say the two people on board the plane suffered only minor injuries.

Scott Lanter, who works at Blue Grass Airport, tells us, “From my perspective it’s the best you could hope for. When you get a call for an airplane accident you prepare for the worst and hope for the best and today that turned out to be the best.”

Right now, there are no flight cancellations at Blue Grass Airport from this crash. You can check on your flight status HERE.

We’ll keep you updated on any changes that could impact flights this evening online and on ABC 36 News at 11:00 p.m.
