BREAKING: Man accused of killing Lexington woman arrested after high-speed chase

BURLINGTON, Colo. (WTVQ) – Jack "J.T." Clemons, the man accused of killing his mother on Monday, was arrested after a high-speed chase in Colorado Thursday morning.

According to Burlington Police Chief Barry Romans, an officer with the department spotted a vehicle that matched the description of a "be on the lookout" alert sent by the Lexington Police Department.

The officer tried to pull the vehicle over, the chief says. Clemons didn’t stop and took off at high speeds.

The chase lasted nearly 81 miles and lasted almost an hour before the vehicle was stopped with spike strips in Goodland, Kans.

Clemons was arrested and taken to the Kit Carson County Jail in Colorado.
