Boyle Co. Schools approves random drug testing for students
BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Boyle County students may soon have to undergo random school drug testing.
The Boyle County Board of Education approved a random school drug testing policy at its meeting Thursday night.
“It’s one piece of a larger puzzle that we, as a school district and community, can put together to support our kids and help them stay drug-free,” Boyle County Schools said in a statement posted to its Facebook page.
According to the policy, when a student tests positive for drugs, school officials will meet with the student and parent/guardian to discuss the test results.
The policy also says drug testing results will not become part of the student’s permanent records.
