Teen claims he was caught in crossfire of shooting in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say they’re trying to verify the claims of a 15-year old boy who says he was wounded after getting caught in the crossfire of a shootout between people in multiple cars.

Police say the reported victim told them it happened around 3:00 a.m. Sunday on Charles Avenue, but investigators say there weren’t any “shots fired” calls in that area then and there are no suspect descriptions.

Police say the teen was shot in the left hand and left leg. Investigators say he walked to his grandparents house on Charles Avenue and they took him to the hospital. The child’s injuries were non-life threatening, according to police.
