Both drivers injured in two-vehicle collision
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Laurel County Sheriff John Root reported an investigation into a two-vehicle collision on US 25, Friday afternoon.
The collision resulted in both drivers being injured.
Deputies say their investigation revealed a blue Mazda car had pulled out from Echo Valley Road, onto US-25, in front of a Ford utility truck traveling northbound. The two collided at approximately 1 p.m., with the truck coming to a rest near the west shoulder of the road, and the car stopping against the north guard rail.
The driver of the Mazda, 20 year old Sara Hampton, was extracted from her car and transported via ambulance to Baptist Healthcare Hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the utility truck, 23 year old Billy Ray Allen, was also reported injured, but it is unknown if he also went to a hospital.
