60-year old Betty Sebastian is accused of having suspected meth in her vehicle

MANCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – A member of the Booneville City Council was arrested in Clay County after police say they found suspected methamphetamine in her vehicle, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

The report says 60-year old Betty Sebastian was spotted leaving a cemetery on Pennington Hill Road without wearing a seat belt on March 25, 2022.

The officer who stopped her described Sebastian as nervous and that her story didn’t match up with what she previously said, so the officer asked to search her vehicle, according to the report.

During the search, the officer found a clear baggy with suspected meth inside a cigarette pack, according to the report.

She was charged with drug possession and failure to wear a seat belt, according to the report.

Sebastian is due in court April 4, 2022, according to the report.
