Body of teen recovered from Boonesborough Beach identified

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — The Madison County Coroner’s Office has identified the body of the teen who went into the Kentucky River on Tuesday and did not resurface.

The teen has been identified as 16-year-old Damien Chamberlain of Houston, Texas.

The body will be taken to the state medical examiner’s office.

The search began on Tuesday, when officials received the call of a teen who went into the Kentucky River, was seen struggling to swim, and did not resurface in the Boonesborough Beach Area of the Fort Boonesborough State Park.

Various agencies from the surrounding counties joined the efforts of search and recovery with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

The teen’s body was recovered on Wednesday evening.
