Chase & Crash suspect to be arraigned Wednesday
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man who state police say led them on a multi-county chase is scheduled to be arraigned in court Wednesday.
According to police, the chase started at around 2 a.m. Tuesday when troopers spotted a stolen truck on I64 in Shelby County.
Spike strips were thrown down near Newtown Pike, blowing out three of the truck’s four tires.
Troopers say the driver, Nathaniel Harper, 38 years old, of Willisburg, kept going but tried to take a corner and flipped the truck on Maryland Avenue in Lexington.
State police and Lexington police showed up as that truck caught fire.
They pulled the Harper out.
He was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Troopers say, as the tow truck started to put the truck on the wrecker, they discovered a man’s body against a building near the crash scene.
According to the Fayette County Coroner, the victim was 57-year-old Anthony Tyrone Moore.
He said Moore died from his injuries he received from being hit by the vehicle.
