Board Of Education Approves Property Tax Hike

You might be seeing a few extra dollars tacked onto your property taxes this year.

The Fayette Board of Education unanimously voted Monday night to raise property taxes by 2.2%.

The tax increase means the owner of a $100,000 dollar home will pay an extra $22 a year.

It not heads to the State Board of Education for approval.

If the tax increase is approved, it is expected to raise more than $164,000,000 for the district over the next fiscal year.
