Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center rebrands to Ampersand Sexual Violence Resource Center of the Bluegrass

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center has a new name.

It is now the Ampersand Sexual Violence Resource Center of the Bluegrass.

Heather Darby, the director of Development and Marketing, says the old name didn’t define all that they do.

The center says it is offering more services and better resources and plans to engage the community more.

Ampersand says it offers individual counseling, therapy, advocacy, and preventive education not just for rape victims, but any kind of sexual violence.

During the month of April, Ampersand is holding events to promote Sexual Violence and Awareness Prevention Month.

You can find these events on their new website at ampersandky.org, along with their 24-hour support hotline for those in need.
