Bluegrass Crime Stoppers searching for theft suspect in Lexington

LEXINGTON, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Bluegrass Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a theft suspect in this week’s Crime of the Week.

According to police, officers were called to the 900 block of Beaumont Centre Parkway around 4 a.m. on September 20 after a panic alarm was triggered. When officers arrived, they learned that the suspect had approached the register after looking around for other guests.

The victim told police the suspect demanded they back away from the register before taking cash and running from the store.

Officials describe the suspect as a man in his early to mid-30s with a beard, wearing a red S&S Tire 50th Anniversary shirt. He is also said to have a small tattoo by his left eye and a sleeve tattoo on his left arm.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Lexington Police or submit an anonymous tip through Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.
