Bluegrass Crime Stoppers needs your help identifying suspect in thefts and robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — One suspect, three separate incidents, involving two thefts and a robbery.

Officials with Bluegrass Crime Stoppers say the first incident happening on Tiverton Way last week.

While investigating, almost an hour later a second theft incident happening on Walden Drive.

Police say, the same suspect is responsible for both and an incident of robbery in December.

“The suspect contacted the victims through an online marketplace, arranged a time and place to meet in order to purchase some items that the victims were selling,” said Det. Kristyn Klingshirn, with Bluegrass Crime Stoppers.

Authorities say in both incidents of theft, the suspect flees the scene without paying.

“During the course of the investigation, detectives determined that a robbery that had occurred on December 23, also in the 100 block of East Tiverton, all three incidents had what appeared to be the same suspect,” she adds.

Officials described the suspect as an average build male standing at 5’10, they say that in the two theft incidents it appears he is wearing a similar outfit.

“In the case of the robbery, he displays the firearm before taking the victim’s property and fleeing, he appears to be wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and white jeans with some holes in the knees, also some type of like white fuzzy hat,” said Klingshirn.

Detective Klingshirn adding that if a deal on the marketplace may be too good to be true, “if you’re not sure if you’re not sure that like am I purchasing something that may be stolen reach out and we you know call the non emergency line at (859) 258-3600 and we will try to help you determine that.”
