Bluegrass Crime Stoppers highlights 1993 disappearance of Sharon Rose Sons
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A nearly three-decade-old missing persons case is back in the spotlight as Bluegrass Crime Stoppers names the disappearance of Sharon Rose Sons its Crime of the Week.
According to investigators, Sons was last seen on October 20, 1993, leaving a residence in the 500 block of Cane Run Road. Authorities say she told others she was heading to a coin-laundry facility but never returned home.
Police describe Sharon Rose Sons as 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 98 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes. She was reportedly wearing a knee-length denim skirt, sneakers, a gold chain with a cross, and a gold necklace with the name “Willie” at the time she disappeared.
The case remains classified as a missing persons investigation, and officials say even small details could help move the case forward.
