Black History Month celebrated in Frankfort
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Legislators took part in the 13th annual Legislative Black History Month Celebration in the Capitol Rotunda in Frankfort on Wednesday.
The theme of the celebration was “The Unifinished Business of Kentucky: ‘Symbolism and Reality.'”
Dr. Gerald Smith was the keynote speaker, and Dr. Carolyn Depont shared a “History Moment” with attendees.
Miss Kentucky, Clark Jannell Davis was on-hand for the event, singing with the Kentucky State University Choir.
Governer Matt Bevin and other state and local officials also attended the event.
