Black Bear Spotted In Richmond Neighborhood
Police sent out an alert on Facebook Sunday night, cautioning residents in a Richmond neighborhood about a black bear roaming the area.
The Richmond Police Department said it received a call about a small black bear going through yards in the area of Keystone Drive and North Keeneland Drive.
Officers alerted several residents and businesses in the area, which was blocked off by police.
According to police, officers with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife showed up on the scene to assist.
The area was surrounded by several officers who spotted the bear running into a wooded area.
Officers posted a message on their Facebook page, asking residents to go inside during their search in case the bear came out.
They said the bear has not been seen since it ran into the woods but if anyone spots it, they are asked to call 911.
