Bipartisan plan passed for opioid epidemic

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The U.S. Senate passed a bipartisan plan to tackle the opioid epidemic Monday.

The bill provides new money for prevention and education efforts, plus cracking down on fetanyl and other illegal drug trafficking.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky authored two provisions in the bill.
