Ashley Cade is the ABC 36 morning meteorologist, giving you the forecast for Good Morning Kentucky, Good Day Kentucky, and News at Noon.
She is a Missouri girl, born and raised in Kansas City before moving to mid-Missouri to pursue her bachelor’s in atmospheric science from the University of Missouri. While there, she was vice president of the Mizzou Meteorology Club and also spent her time volunteering through her service sorority, Little Sisters of the Gold Rose.
During her senior year of college, she began interning at a local TV station in Jefferson City. She was there until graduation in May of 2024. Ashley then found herself in Bowman, North Dakota, working as a radar meteorologist doing atmospheric research for the summer. She made her way back to Jefferson City the following fall as the full-time Noon/Weekend meteorologist.
Now, she’s loving life in the bluegrass state. She enjoys hiking, riding her bike, all things science and nature, and being creative. If you can think of a hobby, she’s interested.
She became invested in the world of meteorology through her fear of it. KC sees its fair share of strong storms and tornadoes, and the one thing that would calm Ashley down during these times was the local TV meteorologist. She started to learn about weather in elementary school, and just never stopped. Now, she wants to be a calming figure for those who may be afraid of the weather. She aims to deliver calm, accurate, and straightforward forecasts with some fun sprinkled in.She loved to meet community members, so if you ever see her, be sure to say hi!
