Alena Neves is a dynamic television journalist and former radio personality, currently co-anchoring Good Morning Kentucky. Before this role, she served as the morning news anchor for Good Morning Black Hills and Good Morning KOTA Territory in South Dakota.
Originally hailing from New Bedford, Massachusetts, Alena made her way to Washington, D.C., where she pursued her passion for broadcasting after being selected to attend the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts.

Her career began as a production assistant at BET News, eventually leading her to roles as a general assignment reporter at CTV Community News and News Brief Anchor for DC Public Schools Channel. With a talent for live conversation and a sharp wit, Alena gained recognition as the co-host of Clear Channel’s “Stacey and Alena on Progressive Talk 1260” before becoming the host of WPGC 95.5 FM’s “Alena7’s All Access,” where she not only hosted but also edited and produced her own daily video show.

Alena’s rich heritage, with Cape Verdean roots, has profoundly influenced her perspective. She credits her mother for instilling a mindset of resilience and determination, stating, “My strong foundation in family and education has driven me to be a voice for the voiceless and a beacon of hope for the hopeless.”

After graduating from Duke Ellington, Alena studied Communications and Fine Arts at Howard University. In 1993, she was crowned Miss DC USA, representing the nation’s capital in the Miss USA pageant on CBS. Transitioning to acting in the late 1990s, Alena landed her first role on the sitcom *Sister, Sister*, followed by guest appearances on shows like *Between Brothers* and *The Mike Hammer Show*, ultimately securing a recurring role on *NYPD Blue*. While in Los Angeles, she also served as a guest reporter for BET’s popular entertainment show, *Screen Scene*.

Alena is a proud mother to twins, Alana and PJ, balancing her professional pursuits with family life.
