Big crowd runs in Richmond to support fallen officer’s memorial fund
RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- More than a thousand runners took part in a race meant to benefit the fund set up after the line-of-duty death of a Richmond police officer.
The memorial 5K for Officer Daniel Ellis had more than 1,500 take part Saturday morning in Richmond, according to organizers. Money raised in the 5K goes toward helping those in need in Madison County.
Daniel Ellis was shot and killed while investigating a robbery last fall.
