Bicyclist crash victim identified

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Madison County Coroner has identified the 18-year-old who died in a crash involving a bicyclist late Tuesday night.

According to the coroner, Jared VanWinkle was riding his bike on Mount Vernon Road, just south of Berea, around 10:30 p.m. when he was involved in a crash with a car. VanWinkle died from his injuries. Authorities confirmed that no one else was injured in the crash.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
