Beware of phone scam in Clay Co.

CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Clay County sheriff is warning people about a phone scam using the department’s name.

The sheriff says someone is calling people claiming to be from the sheriff’s office and telling them there’s a warrant out for their arrest for missing jury duty.

The caller says the situation can be resolved if they pay money.

The sheriff says, don’t fall for it.  It’s a scam.
