Bevin orders flags lowered in honor of Florida shooting victims
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Flags are being lowered at half-staff around the state to honor those killed in the Florida high school shooting.
Seventeen people were shot to death in that mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Governor Matt Bevin has directed both American and state flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff beginning immediately until sunset on February 19 in honor of the victims and their families.
The Governor’s Office says it is in accordance with the proclamation by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Bevin says he encourages all individuals, businesses, organizations, and government agencies to join in this tribute of lowering the flag to honor the victims and families of this tragedy.
