Bevin ad portrays GOP rivals as children in a food fight
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — A new TV ad from governor candidate Matt Bevin depicts his Republican rivals sitting at a children’s table throwing food at each other.
The ad, which began airing Friday, has actors portraying Hal Heiner and James Comer in a food fight while a narrator says the two are acting like children.
Heiner and Comer’s campaigns have sparred this week over allegations that Comer abused his college girlfriend. Comer denies the allegations. Heiner apologized to Comer’s campaign after a newspaper reported his running mate and her husband exchanged emails with a blogger who promoted the story. But Heiner says he had no knowledge of it.
Comer and Bevin both have TV ads critical of other candidates. Heiner does not, but a nonprofit group that supports him has aired several negative ads.
The primary is May 19th.
