Beshear addresses situation at Texas border

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — At the state level, there’s a growing feud between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and federal authorities.

Texas is now becoming an epicenter in the border crisis where most migrants are coming through.

Abbott has been rounding up support from governors across the country to have more security and border measures — like razor wire fences.

Now, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has entered the mix with the Kentucky House and Senate introducing resolutions calling on Beshear to support the Texas governor in securing the Texas border.

“This whole ‘us vs. them’ never gets something accomplished. So, I believe that we need Congress to act. I believe we need to be grown adults. I believe that we need to support our constitution. When the Supreme Court tells us something is the law, then it is the law,” said Beshear.

The Supreme Court is allowing border agents in Texas to remove razor-wire deployed by state crews at the border while the state’s legal challenge to the practice plays out.
