Beshear: More than 1.3 million Kentuckians impacted by Facebook breach

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ)- According to Attorney General Andy Beshear, more than 1.3 million Kentuckians have been impacted by an alleged privacy breach by Facebook.

A letter was sent to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on March 26 from Beshear and other attorney generals asking for the information on the extent of the breach.

According to the information provided to Beshear by Facebook, approximately 1,310,682 Kentuckians were impacted by the breach.

Facebook recently provided state-by-state numbers of those impacted to AGs.

On Beshear’s website, Kentuckians may review consumer protection tips including what to do if their personal information has been compromised.

According to Facebook, the total number of impacted users nationwide is more than 70.4 million.
