Berea Police warn parents after close-call collisions near Silver Creek Elementary
BEREA, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Berea Police are warning parents and guardians of Silver Creek Elementary students to stop parking along Old U.S. 25 after several recent close-call collisions.
According to police, vehicles waiting in the roadway for afternoon pickup have created dangerous conditions, prompting the department to shift from warnings to enforcement. Officers say they will now issue citations, and vehicles obstructing traffic may be towed.
Silver Creek Elementary has notified families that the gate for car rider pickup opens at 1:50 p.m., and police are urging parents to avoid arriving early or blocking the roadway.
Officials are asking families to share the information with anyone responsible for picking up students to help keep the area safe.
