Berea College holds Opening Convocation for new school year

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – One of the oldest and most historic colleges in the nation is back in session and ready to write new stories.

Berea College held its Opening Convocation Thursday afternoon, featuring statements from President Lyle Roelofs, students, staff and alumni. Each speaker described their “Berea Stories” and what makes the institution special to them.

While the college will face the same issues seen on campuses across the state dealing with COVID-19, Berea sees it as a chapter that will inspire those looking back at their resilience.
