Berea College: Food drive collected 7500 pounds of food
BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ)- Berea College says the 23rd Annual Hunger Hurts Food Drive was a big success. The campaign is coordinated by Berea College’s Center for Excellence in Learning through Service (CELTS), in collaboration with Berea Faith Community Outreach (BFCO).
Organizers say despite the rainy weather, the October 24 drive brought in about 7500 pounds of much needed food. They say the donated items will fill the local pantry, the Berea Community Food Bank, which is sponsored by BFCO. And ultimately, it will help many needy families this holiday season.
