Bengals add veteran QB Joe Flacco in trade with the Browns
CINCINNATI, Oh. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The Cincinnati Bengals made a trade for a veteran quarterback on Tuesday for Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco. Flacco, age 40, was the starting quarterback for the Browns up until this past weekend’s game in London, where the Browns made a change and started rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
Joe Flacco was a first round pick in the 2008 draft by the Baltimore Ravens and played there from 2008-18. Since then, Flacco has played for five other NFL teams and has been on a different roster each season. Flacco’s other teams include the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, and Indianapolis Colts.
The Cincinnati Bengals will be trading the Cleveland Browns a 2026 fifth round pick in exchange for Flacco and a 2026 sixth round pick. Flacco gives the Bengals a steady hand at the quarterback position until Joe Burrow returns from his turf toe injury.
