Ben Carson holds town meeting in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – In a town hall meeting today, Ben Carson told Lexington citizens that the country is in trouble, and he hopes people will wake up before it’s too late.

As part of the his presidential campaign for 2016, GOP candidate Carson stopped in Lexington in hopes to rouse voters to his cause.

Kentucky’s caucus is on March 5, and Carson is using the urgency to campaign for healing, inspiring, and reviving an America that he claims is under attack from the government.

“And I pray to God that we can wake up before it’s too late. And I actually see signs of it all over the country, every place we go. I actually believe people are waking up and recognizing what’s going on.” Carson said, adding that changing the attitude of the citizens in this country will create opportunities for cycles like poverty to be broken.

Carson claimed at the town hall meeting that he wants to get rid of many government regulations, and says people need to empower each other to work together.

The most important thing for people to do, he said, is to get out and vote – to participate in changing this country.
