Beloved Lexington radio icon Robert Lindsey passes away at 66

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Longtime Lexington radio host Robert Lindsey passed away at the age of 66 after a battle with cancer.

Robert was a beloved figure in the broadcasting community, having spent more than 50 years as an announcer. His career began at the age of 16, and he dedicated many years to WVLK, becoming a well-known part of the extended broadcasting family in Lexington and Central Kentucky.

Throughout his five-decade career, Robert captivated audiences as a DJ and production talent on the radio.

In addition to his work behind the microphone, according to his obituary, Robert also demonstrated entrepreneurial prowess by owning and operating a successful business for 12 years.

Robert’s services are Monday, May 13th at Milward Funeral Directors on Broadway.
