MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police arrested a man on multiple drug charges, after he stopped at a safety checkpoint on U.S. 25.
Officers say at about 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, 31-year-old Jerry Marlow stopped at the checkpoint, but was unable to provide a driver’s license or proof of insurance. According to investigators, Marlow also gave them a false name before giving them his real one. Also, Troopers say they saw a handgun tucked between the driver’s side seat and the console while talking to him.
After further investigation, police say they determined that Marlow had an active warrant against him.
Troopers then searched the car, and say they found a black box on the floor containing 2.5 ounces of suspected crystal meth. Officers also found a digital scale, marijuana, and a large amount of cash.
