Be Better Prepared For Winter Weather
Hurricane Sandy brings eastern Kentucky the threat of measurable snowfall for the first time this season.
This potential snow comes about 2 weeks earlier than the average first snowfall.
While eastern Kentucky is under the gun this time around, Emergency Management officials say this event should serve as a reminder for everyone to have their winter weather disaster kit ready to go.
This kit should include a NOAA weather radio, a flashlight, extra batteries, a change of clothes, and a first aid kit.
John Bobel, with the Lexington Emergency Management, says you should also have an evacuation plan and an emergency contact.
