Bat Cats Bounced: Kent State 3-2

UK baseball will have to wait until next season to prove critics wrong once again.  The Cats will no doubt have tons of talent coming back from a program-best, 45-win year.

But right now, it stings.  The Cats dropped their second game in the Gary Regional to Kent State, 3-2 on Sunday night, eliminating them from the NCAA tournament.

Back on Friday, the Cats went 21 innings with the Golden Flashes, only to come up one run short, 7-6 the final.

Tonight, a homer from State may not have been.  The ball hit the yellow line on the fence and came back in.  Officials say the ground rules state a ball must clear the fence, not just hit and return.

Either way, UK will be returning to Lexington, with no regional title and a lot of hope for next season.
