Bat Cats beat down Gators in series opener

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky Baseball.  Solid Blue fans, what a year for the Bat Cats and it isn’t over yet.

Sweep Florida and win the Southeastern Conference.  It’s that simple.

One catch, the Gators are a top five team.  Not to worry, UK right behind UF at No. 6.

Trailing 3-0 in the series opener Thursday night in the top of the 4th, Tristan Pompey goes yard for the grand slam.  Then the beatdown ensued.

It was a statement game in Gainesville.  12-4 your final.

UK in the driver’s seat for an SEC regular season title.  Game 2 with the Gators with the SEC East on the line is set for Friday at 7 on the SEC Network.
